For decades, North New Hampshire Street was the place to go in downtown Covington, with the Southern Hotel offering a swanky respite to heat-weary visitors and multiple movie houses showing everything from silent films to "Star Wars."

Grahame was commissioned to paint a series of murals within the newly restored 107 year old Southern Hotel in Covington, Louisiana. His artwork now adorns the walls in the elegant Cypress Bar of this boutique hotel, as well as the pool side area.

Plan ahead to dine at The Gloriette, the new restaurant opening in the next few months at the lovely Southern Hotel in Covington. The posh Gloriette, which means “pergola” in French, will offer a French-influenced American menu with plenty of Louisiana seafood. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and for brunch on weekends, the restaurant’s lush indoor garden setting includes verdant murals that invite the outside in.
